Living without Fear

At some level, everyone struggles with the fear of man. This fear takes on different forms. We can fear what others think of us and be tempted to live for their praise and favor. We can also live in the fear that others might harm us in some way, whether socially, emotionally, financially, or even physically. In Luke 12:1–12, Jesus addresses the fear of man. He exhorts his disciples to beware of hypocrisy, to fear God, not man, and to acknowledge him at all times. And, as he does, he drives home this truth: Christians fight the fear of man with the fear and favor of God.
