Aaron Menikoff

Senior Pastor

Aaron and his wife, Deana, came to Mount Vernon in June 2008. They have four children: Rachel, Jonah, Natalie, and Tori. They moved to Atlanta from Louisville, KY, after Aaron completed his Masters of Divinity in Biblical and Theological Studies and his Ph.D. in American Church History from Southern Seminary.

Brad Thayer

Associate Pastor/Administration

Brad is from Morristown, a small town in East Tennessee. He was raised in a Christian home. He graduated from Boyce College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies in 2006. Prior to receiving his B.A., he completed an A.S. in Agricultural Business from Walter State Community College. He and his wife Candace were married in 2003 and have four children: Olivia, Eva, Nadia, and Greyson. Brad serves as the Associate Pastor/Administration overseeing the church’s operations, finances, facilities, and other general pastoral duties.

Dustin Butts

Associate Pastor/Equipping

Dustin grew up in Lampasas, TX. He became a Christian as an undergraduate at Angelo State University. After college, Dustin spent a year working as a math teacher and then attended Southern Seminary in Louisville. After seminary, he spent two more years teaching math before moving to Atlanta and taking a grant administrator position at Georgia State University. Dustin joined the MVBC staff in 2014, and serves as the Associate Pastor/Equipping overseeing family ministry, membership, and adult education. He and his wife, Jaime, have three sons: Nathaniel, Timothy, and Daniel, and one daughter, Annie.

Jeffrey Timmons

Assistant Pastor/Missions

Jeffrey is from Sandy Springs. He was raised in a Christian home. He graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2018. Prior to receiving his M.Div., he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business from The University of Georgia. Jeffrey is currently working on a Ph.D. in Old Testament from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Jaynie were married in 2017. Jeffrey serves as the Assistant Pastor/Missions and oversees the church’s missions, evangelism, and service of other churches.

Caroline McGill

Administrative Director

Caroline grew up in Augusta, Georgia in a Christian home. She went on to receive her degree in Marketing from Auburn University. After college, she spent 10 years working professionally in the golf marketing industry. After moving to Atlanta in 2015, she became a member of Mount Vernon where she grew in her love of theology and the local church. During that time, she pursued her masters degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated with her MA in 2023.

Hannah Ragan

Children’s Ministry Director

Hannah grew up in Canton, Georgia, and became a Christian in high school. She graduated from Georgia College & State University in 2021 with a BBA in Management and a certification in nonprofit management. Hannah serves as the Children’s Ministry Director, helping Mount Vernon partner with parents to show the next generation the way of Christ. Hannah married her husband, Alex in 2023.

Daniel Sanderson

Operations & Facility Director

Daniel lived in St. Peters Missouri until high school, when his family moved to Marietta, Georgia. He attended Georgia Southern University and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Philosophy. While in college, Daniel was actively involved in Campus Outreach – which is where he met his wife, Chelsea. Upon graduation, they got married and moved to Singapore to minister among college students. After returning to metro-Atlanta in 2015, they became members at Mount Vernon. Daniel worked as a certified Home Inspector until joining staff as the Operations and Facilities Director in 2021. He and Chelsea have four children: Remy, Mack, Winona, and Fletcher.

Liz Freemon

Ministry Assistant

Liz was born in Smyrna and grew up in Marietta, GA. She attended Georgia Tech, where she gained a B.S. in Business Administration. While at Tech, she met her husband, Alex, and they were married in 2013. After college, Liz and Alex spent a year and a half in Dubai, U.A.E. before moving back to Marietta. They have two children: Ezra and Claire.

Trent Roberts

Pastoral Assistant

Trent is from Moultrie, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated in 2020 with a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science. He and his wife Bree met in college and were married after graduation. Trent worked as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist and a Youth Director until becoming a pastoral intern at Mount Vernon in July 2023. He joined staff as the Pastoral Assistant in 2024.

Jena Coen

Ministry Assistant

Jena was born in Key West, Florida and moved to Atlanta a few months later. She became a Christian at a young age and God gave her a love for serving children and their families. Jena joined Mount Vernon in 2010. She is a full-time seamstress and lives in Lilburn with her three rescue dogs.

Kaki Davis

Ministry Assistant

Kaki grew up in a Christian home in metro Atlanta. She graduated from Auburn University with a BSBA in Finance in 2012. After college, Kaki worked in marketing and project management. She and her husband, Will, live in Marietta with their daughter, Sibby, and son, Chip.
