Living without Worry

It is tempting to place our trust in money and possessions rather than in God. We worry that we will one day not have enough, which drives us to store up as much as possible. We often believe that satisfaction in life comes from the treasures we gain for ourselves, leading us to constant covetousness. In Luke 12:13–34, Jesus warns against trusting in earthly possessions because they are not actually ours and will not last. Instead, he points us to trust God by reminding us that he is faithful and shows lavish generosity towards us. Jesus wants his followers to see that only what is eternal will last.
