Marriage is a gift from God. It is a lifelong union between one man and one woman. God’s unique purpose in marriage is to picture the gospel, the relationship between Christ and the church.
We’re thankful you would consider Mount Vernon being apart of your special day! Below is some important information if you’re wanting Mount Vernon to host your wedding ceremony or reception.
How may I reserve a date?
- Review the Wedding Policy Manual.
- Complete the preliminary wedding application.
- Tour the building with the Weddings Ministry Coordinator. (You will be contacted after completing the application.)
- Submit a 50% deposit with the signed wedding application.
- Your date will be reserved once you receive formal confirmation from a church representative.
What is the cost?*
Member Rate (including children and grandchildren of members)
- Main Hall/Sanctuary | $700
- Mount Vernon Room or Courtyard (for small ceremony) | $100
- Fellowship Hall (for receptions and rehearsal dinners) | $500
Non-Member Rate
- Main Hall/Sanctuary | $1,400
- The church does not host smaller ceremonies or receptions for non-members.
*Covers direct cost for an audio/visual tech, maintenance overtime, and general upkeep of the facility. It does not include any honorariums to officiating ministers or musicians. The bridal party is responsible for those financial gifts.
What limitations are there for having a wedding or reception at Mount Vernon?
- No weddings will be hosted between Thanksgiving and New Years due to the church calendar of events and limited staff and volunteer availability.
- Wedding ceremonies can begin as early as 11am and as late as 6pm on Saturdays.
- No weddings will be hosted on Sundays. (Fridays are available.)
- There will be only one wedding per weekend.
- No dancing is permitted at receptions other than the bride and groom’s first dance and mother/groom and father/bride dance. (Song selections must be pre-approved by a church representative.)
- No alcohol is permitted for any occasion, e.g., bridal party preparation, reception.
- The church’s schedule of events takes precedent over all wedding requests.
